Why need to perform regular inspections on electric hoists

Electric hoist is a special lifting equipment, which is installed on overhead cranes and gantry cranes. It is small in size, light in weight, simple to operate, and easy to use. It is used in industrial and mining enterprises, storage docks and other places. 

Reasons of Electric Hoist Accidents:

  • Some data show that half of the probability of electric hoist accidents is caused by operational problems, while the other half is overloaded with electric hoists.
  • Overloading of the electric hoist may cause the wire rope to break. If it is broken during use, it will cause the lifted heavy object to fall, damage the object and other surrounding machinery and items, and even cause casualties.
  • In addition, overloading of the electric hoist will cause the motor to run overload or even fail to run, which will lead to the sharp increase in current and heat generation, damage the motor insulation, and may directly burn the motor.

Wire Rope Electric Hoists Inspections

  1.Wire rope electric hoist motor temperature rise is too high. First of all, check whether the  wire rope electric hoist  is overloaded. The overload causes the motor to heat up. Then check whether the motor bearing is damaged or not, and whether the motor works according to the regulations. When the motor is running, if the brake clearance is too small, will generate a large frictional force.
