Overhead Crane

Overhead crane also called bridge crane and electric travelling crane ( EOT crane) which is a kind of heavy crane for material handling. The overhead crane mainly consisted the crane runways, an electric hoist or trolley to lift loads up and down and the bridge that connects the runways and moves the electric hoist or trolley forward and backward. Overhead cranes are used widely in various industries, such as mining, steel, automotive, aviation, aerospace, marine, rail road, and utility, use overhead cranes for their manufacturing and maintenance operation.

  Bridge Crane = Overhead Crane = Overhead Bridge Crane This issue may be too elementary for many of you, please kindly note that Bridge Crane, Overhead Crane System and Overhead Bridge Crane are different titles for the exact same thing. This results in the customer meaning one thing while the design engineer is thinking of something entirely different.   The main travelling structure which spans the width of the bay is the Overhead Bridge Crane. The bridge consists of two end trucks and a bridge beam (bridging between the two end trucks).   End carriages/trucks: Located on either end of the bridge beam are the end trucks.
